Yolanda Chaves, a distinguished native of Cali, Colombia, possesses a notable background in Fashion Design, which significantly informs her distinctive approach to painting—an innovative amalgamation of realism and abstract elements. With over 18 years of experience in the visual arts sector, Ms. Chaves has developed robust expertise in both sculpture and painting. Her artistic specialization lies in the intricate interplay of lines, shapes, and color palettes, with a strong focus on detail and dynamic composition. Her body of work primarily delves into themes surrounding human figures and expressionism. An alumna of the Cali Conservatory of Fine Arts, Ms. Chaves has had the opportunity to collaborate with esteemed professionals including Fernando Polo, Esteban Martínez, Eliberto Quintero, and Guillermo Ruiz, among others. Her artwork has garnered international acclaim, having been exhibited in prestigious venues such as the National Art Saloon in Costa Rica, the Texcoco Art Exhibition in Mexico City, Expoarte in Cali, Colombia, the Grau Museum in Bogotá, and the Salerno Art Biennial in Sorrento, Italy, among others.
